Kojima Productions to Open Los Angeles Studio

Kojima Productions have headquarters based in Tokyo but now they’re expanding to the West with a new studio – dubbed “Red Fox” – in Los Angeles, as they announced at GDC.

Their goal and philosophy is to “surprise and excite people with high-value entertainment that surpasses generational boundaries” and are aiming to be the top creative development studio in the world, as it should be.

They’ve said that the game experience comes first and that they’ll work really hard to make a “deep emotional experience”. They will be situated at the Playa Vista on the Hercules Campus and the studio is planned to have a testing and screening room.

They’re hiring, too, and presumably they’ll be working on new projects rather than Metal Gear Solid V. It’ll be really exciting to see what they bring to the table – could there be a new franchise in the works?
