Sony Teasing "An Amazing Big Title Coming To Vita" - Not An Indie Game

We'll be "hooked for hours" - but what could it be?

Sony’s Shahid Ahmad, the man largely responsible for the PlayStation brand’s current rise in indie popularity, has announced early this morning (well, overnight) that there’s “an amazing big title” coming to the PlayStation Vita.

“Oh and there is an AMAZING big title coming to Vita,” he said on Twitter. “I can’t tell you anything about it, except that you are gonna be hooked for hours.”

Shahid has declined to comment further, but it’s likely that this isn’t referring to anything AAA in the usual sense of the word. We’d suspect this will be a top-tier indie game, perhaps something like Ridiculous Fishing (which fits, if he’s teasing) or perhaps even Minecraft.

Update here: Shahid has commented further to clarify a couple of things. It’s not an indie game, and the “hours” means “hours a day”. OK, so it’s big.

Regardless of what it is, Shahid is doing tremendous work at the moment, and we have already started to see the results of his turning the platform around.

I think Ridiculous Fishing would not be good on the Vita, as handling the console vertically isn’t the best thing in my opinion.

Minecraft seems like a good shout as long as the Vita version carries up-to-date features. Before the mention on Shahid I was thinking Monster Hunter but, yet again, its out of reach despite being a franchise seemingly built for the Vita.

I thought GT, but the ‘hours per day’ makes me think of Minecraft

Isn’t Minecraft an Indie title though?

I always thought it was the biggest of them.

“Shahid has declined to comment further” – “Update here: Shahid has commented further”. Gottal love the psychology of it.

Could be GT seeing as the announcement is coming up. Could be some sort of cross play cross buy, maybe even cross save game. Would be brilliant and a day one purchase if it was. Otherwise I doubt it would be Monster Hunter. Dare I hope for a Borderlands. The Vita can manage it.

Vita needs more top titles, they seem to be concentrating too much on indie titles. Apart from Killzone, what other big titles are incoming for the console.

My experience with Vita has done nothing if not disappoint but I hope there’s something great in its future.
