Is The Survivor 2299 Site A Fallout 4 Teaser?

Within the last couple of days a site by the name of thesurvivor2299.com has gone live, and it features a countdown which will expire, at time of writing, in 24 days on December 11. Rumours and speculation have led to murmurings that this site is related to Fallout 4, and it almost certainly is.

The first big piece of evidence comes from Whois which shows that the site was indeed registered by ZeniMax Media. ZeniMax is the parent company of Bethesda, the main publisher/developer behind the Fallout series.

Couple this with tweets from Three Dog voice actor Erik Todd Dellums who is doing he own teasing and mentioning Fallout, and linking to songs that would fit right in with a radio set for a DJ in that particular universe.

Of course this could be an elaborate ruse, a very well made one at that, but we’ll find out either on December 11th or when/if Bethesda come out and say it isn’t real. What do you reckon, and where would you like to see the next Fallout to be set?

Personally I’d enjoy a setting near the Great Lakes region because not only do you have a new environmental setting away from deserts and major destroyed cities, but also potential new problems thanks to the presence of the Canadian border. Could you imagine a Brotherhood of Steel style Mounties faction? Because that’d be great.

  1. I hope it bloody is. Fallout 4 on PS4 makes me so excited. Then I think of remote play with Fallout 4 and I’m a mess :)

  2. Please be true I’ve missed Fallout. I’m well ready for another one. The great lakes would be great. I could imagine some new big bear kind of thing attacking you.

  3. I do love the fallout games. Please let there be a ps4 version and soon!

  4. Mixed feelings about this… haven’t finished Skyrim yet. Wish there were more than 24 hours in a day.
Damn Bethesda and their life-eating games!

  5. Please, be true!

  6. Won’t be getting a penny out of me unfortunately, not after the terrible job they did with Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim on PS3.

    • With you there.

Although I can see why others might like the games, I prefer smaller worlds with more focus and detail, rather than the larger ones that are a bit of a mess.

  7. Any know Morse code?

    • it translates to “12.12.13”

  8. Fallout 3 is one of the few games I always feel like I want to go back to and play some more of the DLCs. But then there is so much to play, and I’ve even skipped New Vegas.

    • I think my first review job for TSA was the Fallout 3 DLCs. Bugged to fuckery as expected but quite fun.

  9. I’d really like to see a new fallout game on Xbox one. I really enjoyed the previous games

  10. Well, if true, it could be the game that pushes me to get the PS4. If it’s out on PC as well though….I may continue not to bother for a while longer.
