We’ve not seem much gameplay from Lara’s latest timed Xbox exclusive outing but someone seems to have got their hands on the game and has posted fifteen minutes of snowy action on YouTube.

Square Enix have also released and official trailer, which features a few brief sections of gameplay.
The secrets of history are hidden in hostile environments. Lara must survive in the wild, then discover and explore deadly tombs filled with traps and puzzles in her search for the Lost City of Kitezh.

Looks like the kind of game I like, although ‘asphyxia by bow’ gets a little tiresome.

I’ve only had chance to skip through it quickly at work, but from what I did just see, it doesn’t look too impressive. It looked like a mixture between Assassins Creed, Uncharted & a turd. That may be a bit harsh though, I’ll have to watch it properly later on with sound.
Starman
Remember your glasses too. ?
double-o-dave
Maybe it was because I watched it in a tiny window. I’ll give it another watch later, but it just didn’t look as good as I’d hoped it would.
Starman
Looks awesome. Btw there’s a 2 hour gameplay video on youtube so there’s plenty of gameplay to be seen.
MrYd
It all looks a bit meh and as much of a Tomb Raider game as the lsat one was.
But who stores anything in red barrels these days? They must know what will happen. Do they not have any health and safety people to point this out to them and tell them to maybe put stuff in different barrels? Ones that aren’t such bullet magnets?
It just annoys me lately. It’s not quite at the point where it’s been done enough times that it can only be seen as a deliberate joke. It’s currently just lazy and shouting “You _really_ should be shooting this” at you.
Youles
It’s a fair point – the red barrels. What about oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers. or gas pipes. All less obvious and far more likely to be in close proximity to people or guard patrols.
“I know, we’ll put this large batch of explosive barrels right by this guard point. They’ll be nice and safe there.”
double-o-dave
You’ve got the red barrels in MGS Phantom Pain too. As soon as I saw one, my first instinct was to shoot it and watch it explode, unfortunately I was stood about a foot away from it.
MrYd
Never stand close to a red barrel. Unless you’re a sniper. They always stand next to red barrels.

Compared to the WOW moment I had when had to pick my tounge upnoff the floor after I saw the full extended Uncharted 4 trailer, this seems rather “meh”

Pretty glad I got the right console.

Lol, the dude she attacks turns invisible at 3:15.
I like the look of this, albeit it looks very samey (gameplay and visuals) to the previous game – although no bad thing, you’d think they might be able to improve the visuals somewhat.
I like the smart, black and white menu presentation. And the game has a grittier look than the vibrant colour palette of Uncharted.
JustTaylorNow
Looks like tomb raider 1.2 tbh but hope to be proved wrong.
JR.
It isn’t Tomb Raider but it looks great.
They’re still hindered by the limitations of the 360 so I’m not expecting anything groundbreaking. It will probably play exactly like the reboot which I really enjoyed.
I can’t see this being a bad game either way. They could make Lara do the Macarena in a Mr Blobby suit for seven straight hours and it still wouldn’t be as awful as Angel of Darkness.
Youles
Haha, the name is super cringey – “Angel of Darkness”. For a Tomb Raider game, haha!!
JR.
The name was the least of that game’s problems. How it was released in such a state is a mystery. It’s the most broken high profile game I’ve ever played. Great soundtrack though.
Youles
Oh really, I wasn’t aware of it’s issues. Might have to take a look. I’m pretty sure it’s in my pile of shame somewhere (PS2 maybe), unplayed.
JR.
It was a nightmare project apparently. I remember seeing a documentary on the making of it and there were all kinds of issues. They tried to do too much in too little time without a clear idea of the game they were supposed to be making. It was basically a collection of half baked ideas stitched together at the last minute.
If they had been given more time to actually finish it, it could have been great but it was just really really bad. Apparently it was submitted eight times to Sony before release. Just in time for the Cradle of Life movie.
It didn’t do very well anyway. It was the last TR game CORE Design worked on and the beginning of the end for the developer that made the original Tomb Raider games on the PS1. A planned trilogy was cancelled and Eidos gave the franchise to Crystal Dynamics who went on to make TR Legend.
Youles
That’s pretty interesting, thanks. Shame it was rushed, it never usually ends well in those situations!
TSBonyman
The leaked footage doesn’t inspire me but i’m still looking forward to the actual tomb raiding.
MOVE
Generic as f…!
Little Lara runs upto big guy, slaps him so he turns around an d then breaks his neck. And then repeats…
Btw, itsounds as if atree is coming down when she kills them. I don’t get why any one would find this to look great . A part from the graphics that is which looks fine I guess.
Amphlett
I think that Lara should be commended. If I ran around with a big looped length of rope hanging from my waist I would trip over it or get it caught on something every two minutes. Heck, if I try to pick anything up when getting out of my car I can guarantee that it will get stuck on the gear stick, the handbrake, somewhere around the steering wheel or just slip down between the driver’s seat and the centre console. So, I take my hat off to Lara, you go girl!
