Codemasters Revive A Classic Series With Micro Machines World Series

It’s baffling how long the Micro Machines brand has lain dormant – heck, Codemasters even released their own Micro Machines-alike in 2014, Toybox Turbos – but Codies is doing the right thing and bringing them back to modern consoles in Micro Machines World Series.

Out on 21st April, the game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC – I rather hope they add Switch to that list down the line – taking you back to the garden, the kitchen, the workshop and a number of other locations.

Alongside classic Race and Elimination modes, there’s a new Battle Arena mode, and Team which brings together team play modes like Capture the Flag and King of the Hill.

It’s been a long, long time, so here’s hoping it’s worth the wait!

  1. Unbelievable they’ve not made a MM game for so long. A welcome return. Sony should do another motorstorm RC too. That was ace.

  2. Sweet! I haven’t played this since back in the Amiga days. Wouldn’t mind seeing some actual gameplay though.

  3. Oh wow, that’s trailer looks good! Fingers crossed it’ll be like V3 with lots of local multiplayer.

  4. I would kill for a new Mashed-type game. I still play Mashed on PS2 now! So much fun. I was hoping they’d bring it to the ‘classics’ range but I’m still waiting…

If this is half as good as Mashed ‘fully loaded’ though, I’ll be a happy chappy.

  5. I think I played that back when I was a kid on the PS1.

    ……

It’s offical, I am an old man. Thanks, TSA. :P

But it is good to see an old series get dusted off and brought back. *Sees Duke Nukem Forever* Ok, dead series. Not ones that take forever to develop then turn out to be crap.

I think they will end up doing it on the Switch within a year and if the Switch is worth their time.

By god, I’m becoming the TSA version of Patcher! :O

  6. SHOW. THE. BLOODY. GAME!!!!

  7. Great news! Finally a game announcement I’m actually interested in!

  8. Played this to death on my neighbors megadrive. He was a total nob but, you know, micro machines, sacrifices had to be made.

  9. Want :3

  10. Gameplay would be nice. I loved Motorstorm RC which I hear is quite similar to this (me being too young to have played Micro Machines), so if it looks decent when they finally show some gameplay I might dip my toe…
