Well, hasn’t it flown past, eh? Exactly one year ago, this midnight, TSA was at the front of the queue in GameStation, cash in hand, waiting for the till to open so we could grab the brand new PlayStation 3, catch a taxi and see for ourselves what all the fuss was about. Leaving the shop with the console, 6 games, a HDMI cable and a buzzing sense of excitement, it was a desperate rush to rip open the packaging and lift out the massive, shiny hulk of the PS3, connect up, and experience Motorstorm for the very first time.
Naturally, once the initial rush of sales had died down the PS3 had a rough few months, but things have come a long way since then and with a year full of excellent games and loads of stories to tell we’ll be running special birthday retrospectives all next week. But for now let’s all join together and say “Happy Birthday PS3!”
