What Criterion are working on has been a mystery for some time now, apart from the continued support for Burnout Paradise, of course. Well, now we know: it’s Need For Speed. During the William Blair Growth Stock Conference this morning EA’s John Pleasants confirmed the Criterion devs are assigned to a Need For Speed game, although we’re not sure which.
“We’ve taken the Burnout team and combined it with our Need For Speed franchise,” he said. “So we now have that in our favor because that Burnout team is probably one of the more online-centric and notably high-quality game developers that we have out at Criterion.” We suspect that the game Criterion are working on is still unannounced, and won’t be out this year.
