Don’t be fooled by the recent good weather, the Glastonbury Festival Of Contemporary Performing Arts is almost upon us and that can only mean one thing; freak weather and torrential rain will be order of the day in the skies above Worthy Farm. If you’re one of the 150,000 people who like going to see such new and exciting break-through artists as Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Blur then you may also be interested to know that SCE-UK will again have a presence there with the joint sponsorship of the Queens Head Stage and the neighbouring The Snug tent.
PlayStation share sponsorship of the stages with Q Magazine, who presumably are sorting out the music, because Sony are reportedly bringing an immense AV backdrop to the stages, sounds awesome!
More good news is that everybody’s favourite party game, SingStar will be at the forefront of Sony’s promotional effort with SingStar booths at the side of The Snug giving everyone a chance to embarrass themselves with four performers a day being picked to strut their stuff actually on The Snug’s main stage – with feather boas mirror balls being the norm.
Vidzone probably launched a bit late in the day to get in on any cross-promotional activities, but you never know. Good to see SCE-UK are doing some marketing activities, although how many people returning from Glasto will be able to remember what they got up to over the course of the 4 or 5 days they’re there is a different matter.
