Gran Turismo PSP News

The only Lamborghini I’ve ever seen in a Gran Turismo game was the special racing version of one in a Japanese-only release. My memory escapes me but I’m guessing it was GT3.  Regardless, it now appears that Polyphony have attained the proper license for the esteemed Italian manufacturer with the official (non race model) 1974 Lamborghini Countach now confirmed to be appearing in Gran Turismo PSP.

A new post on the Official PS Blog states that this “marks the first time Lamborghini has ever been in Gran Turismo. And as you can imagine, this won’t be the last Lamborghini in a Gran Turismo game, either.”  Not strictly true, but we get the idea.  The good point is that by pre-ordering the game you’ll bag one of several special bonus cars, which include the Bugatti Veyron, the GTbyCitroen and a metallic blue GTR, alongwith the aforementioned Countach.

You’ll still be able to buy these cars in game, but by pre-ordering you’ll have them right in your garage from the off for use in multiplayer races, a nice feature.  Also of interest are the Yen prices for both the UMD and the Digital Download of the game, with the disk-based version at 5,480 Yen (40 Euros) and the Store version at 4,400, a saving of approximately 8 Euros.  We’re still waiting on exact European pricing, but hopefully we’ll get the same savings from the PSPgo’s poster child.
