Xbox 360 On Demand Games Announced

Having recently become an owner of a Xbox 360, I am a little bit more excited about this service than I was before. Microsoft has announced the launch line-up for the Xbox Live games-on-demand channel, which comes out Tuesday 11th August. However, my excitment died down once I remembered that it is not a service I am likely to use, being a disc-loving gamer, but the advantages of it are great and only furthers the increase in downloadable titles.

What’s brilliant about this service though is the ability to purchase full games using credit cards, meaning you can avoid the annoyance of converting Microsoft’s crazy space bucks into their real world costs. How much the games will cost are still yet unknown, although they will be “comparable” to retail, so whether this is their RRPs or their current costs will have a huge factor on the success of this service.

The 21 games available for the European launch are:

  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Need for Speed: Most Wanted
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Perfect Dark Zero
  • Call of Duty 2
  • Prey
  • Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
  • Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis
  • Fight Night Round 3
  • SEGA Rally
  • Kameo: Elements of Power
  • Test Drive: Unlimited
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas
  • Mass Effect
  • Tomb Raider: Legend
  • Meet The Robinsons
  • Viva Piñata
  • MX vs. ATV Untamed
  • Viva Piñata 2: Trouble in Paradise
  • Need for Speed Carbon
