Polish developers ‘Flying Fish Works’ have detailed their upcoming game “Hellion: Mystery of the Inquisition”. Due for the third quarter of 2010 the game aims to ‘create a historical fiction game that will put you in the centre of the medieval world, full of its cruelty, intransigence and diversified beliefs.’
So far, so Assassins Creed and the similarities continue with Hellion featuring ‘life-like medieval settings full of wild animals, rough warriors, powerful Templar knights, deadly assassins and horrifying demons.’ Aha! A cunning and unexpected twist at the end.
Main character ‘Godric’ (aka Vinnie Jones in armour) works for the Pope who has tasked him to investigate heretic sects, find their leaders and convert them. If the heretics decide repentance is overrated and they would quite like to continue being sinful Godric can ‘bring them to justice, hold a trial and punish the non-believers.’ In other words he gets to kick seven shades of poo out of them. The game will feature ‘uncut sword fighting action’ and more than 30 ‘finishers’. I’m very tired today so just imagine some smutty comment about ‘uncut swords’ and ‘a happy finish’ in this space. Thank you.
The title will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and I’m going to guess these are PC screenshots. If you’d like to view some uncut sword fighting action the video is available on the Hellion website
