Over at GDC10, Sony have concluded their big reveal of PlayStation Move by highlighting some of the brand new titles we will be able to get hold of once they release the system. Interesting that most of the developers appear to be British, too, which can only be a good thing in our eyes.
Sports Champions
The first of the new titles was called Sports Champions. This included various games such as a Gladiator Challenge, which involved some swordplay and look very impressive and precise, and Table Tennis, which again seemed to work extremely well, with the demonstrator really getting into the sport.
Move Party
The next title shown was Move Party, this game uses the camera to track the player onscreen and the controller is represented by various items on screen, be it a tennis racket, paint brush and even hair clippers. This actually looks like it could be a fun party game which the kids should enjoy.
LittleBigPlanet Demo
The developers of LittleBigPlanet were up next to reveal that the game will be able to support PlayStation Move using the controller to move items on the environment. The way this works is that one player uses the Dualshock 3 controller, while the other uses Move to manipulate the environment, again it seems to work fairly well and dare we say actually looks quite fun.
EyePet
Sony also showed a brief video of Eyepet in which the motion controller seemed to replace the functions of the Magic Card which comes with the game, no other details were shown though.
Motion Fighters
The last new title that was shown was Motion Fighters. This is a gritty, hardcore street fighting game where the controller actually tracks your fighting moves in real time and allows for some nasty illegal moves if you’re energetic enough – it looks a bit strenuous to us which should please the fitness fans out there.
Accessories
Sony also revealed a sub controller for the PlayStation Move. This is basically the Nunchuck which allows players to control the movement of their character in games such as SOCOM 4, which will be playable with the new control scheme from beginning to end.
Sony were billing SOCOM 4 as one were you can easily sit down and play, rather than jumping around like you have flies in your pants. It’s inclear as to whether you’ll be able to play against DualShock 3-weilding opponents with the PlayStation Move combo.
