Michael Patcher has been on the attack again and this time his subject is the decline of the personal computer.
Speaking on his Pach-Attacks program on GameTrailers, the outspoken analyst said,
The PC Market if you think about it as packaged products sold – not subscriptions like World of Warcraft – it’s only like 6 or 7 per cent of total game sales, it’s becoming a declining industry because you can get a near PC experience on a console.
The PS3 is a pretty powerful box, and it is probably more powerful than 90 per cent of PC’s out there. The 360 is probably more powerful than 85 per cent of PC’s out there.
Pachter also went on to explain that he feels consoles are the easiest to develop for and this is what attracts developers to them over the PC.
So what do you think, is Patcher right? Is gaming for PC’s in decline or is they still as strong as ever? Let us know your thoughts.
