Sony will announce later today a deal which will see Major League Baseball being streamed live to PS3 owners in the US.
The New York Times reported the deal, saying that sign-ups will be under way by the end of the week, allowing users to watch live MLB games from their PS3.
Senior Vice President for PSN, Peter Dille who was commenting on the deal to the New York Times said,
This is more than just a game console. This is a device that is redefining how content is being delivered to the living room.
So what could this mean for users in other parts of the world? Live football perhaps? After all Sony has a long standing relationship of sponsoring competitions such as the Champions League. Let’s hope this is the start of something great.
