Anticipation for this game is certainly sky-high but perhaps even higher than we initially thought. Amazon.co.uk have issued a press release stating that it’s the most popular pre-order of the year so far. The game currently occupies the top three spots on their chart with the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PS3 Limited Edition versions selling like hot cakes.
This is great news for RockStar and Amazon, of course, but what does it mean for platform sales? Can we read anything into the PS3 version appearing twice? Has Alan Wake’s recent release harmed the 360 sales performance, customers not wanting too many games in their pile? It certainly seems to put the side-by-side console comparisons into perspective.
