PlayStation Move Dated

PlayStation Move has been dated. If you’re in Europe it’s September 15th, it’s a little later on the 19th in the US and in October in Japan.

Price wise, it’s $49.99 for the Move controller, and the navigation controller will be $29.99.  Hardware bundles will be available, and we’ll chase Euro pricing as soon as we can.

A number of new Move compatible games were mentioned, including a new Time Crisis game.

  1. Looks schweet! But, it’s out on a Wednesday (15th) in Europe and a Sunday (19th) in US? Does that sound odd to anyone?

    • Yeah, I’m surprised Europe gets it before Japan. Price doesn’t sound too bad, but I’m not getting it.

  2. Many thanks to all the TSA people for these updates! My stream of the show froze – strange didn’t happen on the other E3 shows.

  3. Oooo, that doesn’t equate too well with GBP cost. Um, maybe £55 or so. That’s a bit painful.

    • for both controllers you mean?

      • yep, plus a game on that, thats quite steep, does that include an eye camara???

but kinetic (what is its actual name) will be expensive as well

    • I reckon £30 for the Move and £20 for the sub or £40 for both.

      • £35 & £25 if it follows the patter of normal Sony pricing

      • on amazon the controller is at £40 and the sub at £30 and eye camara is £22

        = £92

        ouch :(

  4. Time crises sounds like a winner! bit pricy tho :(

  5. i thought i dreamed that bit, europe getting it first? :)
    and they priced it too.
it’s a surprise to me but i’m actually starting to warm to the move, may or may not get it still but, it is looking pretty decent.

  6. Pretty good pricing if you ask me. Let’s assume everyone has at least one Dualshock 3 (or Sixaxis), then the only thing you need to get ‘moving’ is the Move controller and a PS Eye. The RRP on those two is $90 (USD) which is definitely more than a single Dualshock 3 ($55 USD) but the PS Eye is useful for much more than just the Move, and a lot of people like myself have had one for years.

The Sub looks nice, and at $30 (USD) it’s basically one half of a Dualshock 3 for half the price – makes sense. You don’t NEED a Sub for any of the Move games (as far as I can tell a DS3 will work just as well), but for core players the Sub is a nice option.

So for each player you want to add, you’re just up for $50 for each additional Move controller – a pretty good way to stagger things and of course it means your friends can just bring theirs over with them when they come visit. I like this model a lot more than the rumoured $150 for Kinect – not to mention how crap boring the Kinect games look.

    • I’ve tried holding the DS3 in one hand and its really hard to use, press the shoulder buttons and stuff whilst holding it – especially for anything longer than 5mins

    • I agree wth you and also there’ll no doubt be 3rd party Subs on the market too, even cheaper.

  7. Amazon are showing move as 45 quid and the sub as 29. 74 for a pair seems steep!

  8. Echochrome 2 just sold Move to me. The price is not higher than expected and it looks like there will be some great games for it, not just the sports and family party stuff. Plus it has “what we from the future call ‘buttons'” :)

  9. Balls to price & time crisis,if they announce point blank i’m sold no matter what.

  10. Cool to see their doing the releases in reverse this gen. So you guys in Europe can’t complain about getting stuff last anymore!
