Crackdown 2 Soundtrack Outed

Thanks to Destructoid, the soundtrack for one of my most anticipated games of 2010 has been disclosed. I’m ecstatic to say that it includes some odd choices that look like Ruffian have been spying on my iTunes playlists. Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Blue Oyster Cult, Public Enemy…

There’s other stuff too, but let’s just say that any game using Dylan’s musical rail against the arms-manufacturing and political classes in an ironic way automatically wins the title of “best game soundtrack ever” in my mind. A title it has stolen from previous holders, Halo 3, Borderlands and Red Dead Redemption. There’s a lesson in there for future games publishers: Needs more Dylan.

  1. there’s a lesson in there for publishers – more soundtracks please!

  2. Whodini! I never thought they’d end up in there. Man, that takes me back quite a few years.

  3. Don’t know about the game but the soundtrack is very impressive. May dig out some Atari Teenage Riot for old times sake now

  4. cool, Dylan, nice work.

  5. Those are all pretty much dubstep tracks, or dubstep remixes. NOT originals.

Mistabishi, El-B, The Bug, Joker, Reso, Rossi B & Luca, Starkey, Headhunter, Instra:mental & Mensah are all dubstep producers.

    • Oh, and not forgetting Bristol’s finest, Jakes!
