Insomniac Would Support Ratchet HD

Insomniac Games, creators of the classic Ratchet and Clank series, won’t be making a HD Classics version of their seminal PS2 platformers, although they would support anyone else that wanted to do it.

Speaking on their Twitter page, the now multiformat developers put a stop to any rumours that they were beavering away updating some of the last generation’s best games, but confirmed that they’d lend a hand to any third party willing to pick up the baton.

There were four last-gen Ratchet and Clank titles from Insomniac:

  • Ratchet & Clank (2002)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (2003)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (2004)
  • Ratchet: Deadlocked (2005)

Both the God of War Collection and the Sly Cooper Collection were developed by different teams than their original PS2-era ones, with Kratos’ upscaled adventure coming courtesy of BluePoint and Sly by way of Sanzaru.

  2. I’d love to see these games on ps3 :)

  3. ALL! RELEASE EM ALL!!

  4. I’L TAKE THE RING TO MORDO- no a wait… I’l make the games!!!

  5. Weren’t there like five R&C games on PS2? I didn’t realise Insomniac didn’t do all of them themselves, huh.

This isn’t a series that would be high on my wants list for the new Classics HD line, especially when there are far more worthy and wanted series out there(Jak and Daxter) that could be being upscaled in the meantime.
