If we can manage to stop talking about Cole’s hair for a second, let’s not forget that Infamous 2 also sports a real deal heroic story of good versus evil. Check out below a fresh trailer shown at Comic-con last week. No gameplay on offer but it does give us a nice introduction to Cole’s new stomping ground, New Marais.
We also get to see what looks like the town’s thuggish vigilantes described eloquently by Cole as “red-neck assholes.” Also, in amongst the impressive artwork, keep an eye out for what looks to be an integral plot point to the sequel’s story, a particular someone in constraints described as the key to “amping up” Cole’s powers.
Finally, it’s interesting to see Sucker Punch continuing to make parallels between New Marais and its real-life counterpart New Orleans. “After the flood half the buildings were abandoned,” Cole says. A nice – if tragically sad – hat-tip to what befell the city after 2005’s Hurricane Katrina.

Excellent! I was already afraid they would abandon the Comic-Style cutscenes of the first game for some fully rendered cgi stuff.
This game is shaping up better and better.

Voice work is back to its best. The comic-strip cut-scenes looking splendid. *happy sigh* This feels like old inFamous but improved. Now we’re talking.

Looks and sounds pretty awesome. Great art style to the comic based cutscenes, as with the first game, and you can tell it’s a bit different.
Also loving the hinted at plot. Gives Cole plenty of leeway to be good or bad, and hopefully this aspect will be able to look at your save from inFamous 1.
All in all, spot on :D

For me, the overwhelming feeling is that it’s different to most other games and that alone makes me want to play it. There’s only so much FPS, PSN games, I can play.

Not much point me going into how I feel about this game as I’d be echoing the sentiments of everyone else above me.
I personally hope that the game does look at your save from inFamous though. Then again I’m interested to see how they “power-down” Cole from the first game. Surely it won’t be that the bad-guys are super-badass now is it? They’ll have to take away a lot of Cole’s powers somehow…

it was already mentioned in july’s Game Informer magazine that cole does get new abilities(ice) and that you start with alot of the abilities that you’ve unlocked in the first game, like the electric grind. They basically said that they want you to feel as powerful a super hero when you start the game, and a super-super hero when it ends. It was a really good article that touched on alot of the changes their making, including the appearance of cole, and the new role of Zeke…

I’m guessing it’ll be a noticeable gap between this and inFamous, like so there is no story to how he loses his powers. Or maybe tie it in with the death of Kessler and rewrite the end of the old game.
I’m glad they went back to the old Cole, and he’s even putting some effort into sounding gravely like before. I’m feeling less apprehensive about this game :). Gotta trust the developer, I suppose.

Now thats the way I like it! Back to the darkside!! Not some gucci parkour guy.
Hopefully theyll chuck in loads of trophies and keep me playing. I wish there were a few more challenging trophies on infamous 1 to keep me playing. Also they should stick in a few more landmarks instead of just plain old buildings. I hope they have some mega tall skyscraper youve got to climb which takes ages because I love that stuff!
Anyway I cant wait and Im hoping I wont be too busy when this comes out next year.
