PlayStation Move Buyers Survey

One of our readers contacted us recently to ask if we’d help with a report for a school project, and because the topic’s about PlayStation Move we were all too happy to help. Basically, we want to know why you’re buying PlayStation Move if you are buying it, and why you’re not if you’re not. The project is specifically about how Move stacks up in relation to the Wii so please try to put all thoughts of Microsoft’s new control system out of your mind for the duration of this brief poll. If you’ve got anything specific to add then please use the comments.

Please vote honestly. There’s an education at stake.

  1. I got 2 move and 2 nav controllers on pre order (already have the ps eye). I sold my wii a few months back to fund it. To be honest I prefer to keep to one console if I can and the move equivalents of the wii games seem to be as good as them, if not better (plus there’s the obvious graphical improvement). I’m also keen to play FPS using move.

I like motion control but I don’t want to have to use it in every game. I’ll still use my dual shock controller for most games and I’m happy with that.

I don’t have a 360 so Kinect was a non starter as it would have cost me the best part of £250 where it’s costing me £92 for the 4 controllers I’ve ordered.

    • Trophies is probably another reason I’d use move over playing on a Wii. I hate to say it but I struggle to pick up a game that doesn’t have trophies now, even if I’m not bothered about getting them all on a game. It’s the main reason I don’t use my PSP at home any more.

  2. I wasn’t getting it before PSBeta, but after using one, I defiantly am! =D

  3. what will motivate me? About £70 cold hard cash.

  4. The precision looking interesting for both shooters and rts games. Also, I feel I can expand my 2 year olds gaming beyond just eyepet.

  5. I voted It is a PlayStation 3 peripheral and I buy anything for PlayStation.

  6. I voted “games look better than the Wii”. I don’t think I’m going to buy Move on day one but will eventually. I’m interested to see how Sony support the Move in the future but for now am looking forward to playing Heavy Rain, Resi 5, Killzone 3 and Sorcery with Move controls. I really believe they look like they could add something to the games.

  7. I missed:

I buy move for Dead Space: Extraction

  8. I picked “It seems better than Wii Motion Plus controls” But it seems obviously a lot better in all areas than the Wii IMO

  9. I chose the top reason as to why I’m purchasing Move, but that’s not my actual reason why. My reason is simple because I think it looks interesting and I want to try out the games for it. I don’t actually buy anything PlayStation, but that’s the closest to my real answer I guess.

  10. I realise this is a ‘school project’ and therefore limited in scope, but I hope the subject isn’t survey design because this one would fail. The questions here are very limited in breadth, and the response options are too narrow.

Simply changing this to include a likert scale (five options from strongly agree through to strongly disagree) would allow you to put a weighting on each question for importance.
