LOTR: War In The North Trailer

Gamescom continues to be the gift that keeps on giving, and it hasn’t even started yet. The latest addition to the collection of pre-trade show trailers is for Lord Of The Rings: War In The North.

Set for release during 2011 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, the 3rd person action RPG offers the chance for up to three players to team up in a co-op battle through Middle Earth as you create your own Fellowship.

  1. still no gameplay footage yet though.
these prerendered trailers are rarely indicative of what the actual game will be like.

    • Agreed, they’re as good as useless 9 times out of 10. You can make any game look good just by showing the cutscenes, which is why i generally take no notice of there sorts of trailers at all.

      • they’re cool to watch, especially that dcu trailer, that was awesome, but they often bear little relation to the game, it’s amazing all the abilities the game characters have in the cg trailers and cutscenes that they suddenly forget once they’re in gameplay. :)
the devil may cry games are notorious for that.

    • I agree with what you are saying regards to the lack of gameplay footage. Still looks pretty good though.

  2. still…orcs being decapitated? Hell yeah!

  3. Forgot to add its the first 18 rated game set in the lotr universe, although the cgi kinda shows that

    • that is a good sign but why is there a wizard? is it young gandalf or something

although to be fare i dont know smeg about the LOTR lore for all i know there could be hundreds of wizards but there all lazy shits and gandalf was the only who could be bothered

  4. I’m guessing this is 3rd person?

    • “the 3rd person action RPG”
      Something tells me….. yes :)

  5. reminds me a bit too much of the dragon age trailers . . .

  6. Im guessing this isn’t it but what is the move compatible LOTR game while we are on the subject?

Now on the subject of this im not really a RPG sort of person but this looks very good. But as said before i want to see some gameplay videos before i judge if i purchase it and not just cut scenes.
