Mass Effect 2 For PS3 – Confirmed

Because we know you like the news “now” (and the fact that we can ninja edit this article later over some hot cocoa, caressing its sentences and paragraphs like a Renaissance maestro lovingly polishing his latest masterwork) here’s the big news from EA’s conference happening right now over at Gamescom.

Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PS3 in January 2011.

  4. This is awesome! I’ve been wanting to play this game for a long time, but my lack of a 360 and having a non-gamer pc has kept me from doing so. I recon it will only be a matter of time before the first one is announced to join the sony side aswell.

    • Don’t hold your breath. Unlike ME2, Microsoft published ME1.

      • Only the 360 version though. EA published the game for PC. But still it does make it more complicated..

      • 360 version was first and MS ponied up the money for it. That’s the crux of the problem there.

      • I see the problem, hopefully they’ll sort something out though so it’s not a direct port..

  5. The 360 has lost another exclusive and it’s a safe bet that ME3 will also be on PS3. The 360 loses a lot of it’s exclusives because of it’s lack of 1st and 2nd party devs. Sony has loads more and their exclusives stay exclusive.

    • What 3rd party exclusives have stayed?

    • Splinter Cell Conviction comes to mind. For now …
      ;)

      • I expect a port of that is in production for release once M$ exclusive contract expires.

  7. It’s good to have another popular series on the ps3 but unless they release the first one as well then I probably won’t bother with it.

    Still a chance of a Left 4 Dead announcement this week too.

  8. Now all we need is Halo.

    • Never going to happen, Halo is owned by Mircosoft.

    • Gears of War, Alan Wake, Left 4 Dead and Splinter Cell Conviction would be higher on my list (probably Crackdown as well)

      • Crackdown is published by Microsoft last time I checked. As is Gears of War. And Alan Wake :S

      • So only splinter cell left. Not bad in my opinion.

      • I would put money on Splinter cell being announced some time in sept. It will be around 6 months after the 360 version was released. I bet it’s due for release in feb march time. Hopefully it will be hd this time.

  9. really enjoyed the first one and this has saved e from getting the 2nd one on 360
    hopefully they wont put it at full price around £25 would be decent
