Good news for those of you with a 3D TV/PS3 combo– Sony has confirmed that it will update the PS3’s firmware to support 3D Blu-ray movies in October.
Sony’s Howard Stringer broke the news – although he didn’t comment on why the update had been pushed back, as it was meant to go live this month.
Currently there isn’t a huge choice of 3D Blu-ray titles available, but Michael Jackson’s This Is It, Alice in Wonderland, Avatar, Spider-man 3 and Green Hornet are all on the way.

Ah thanks for this guys, I was actually searching the web yesterday for when we were going to get this. I spotted a Samsung 40inch LED 3DTV in Comet over the weekend. It looked quality and only £800. Pretty good deal I think.

That is a good deal. I think in 6 months or so, 3D is gonna be as synonymous with new TVs as HD is now.

I think you are right, I will probably grab one when they are slightly cheaper than now, just in time for KZ3 :)

Boo-yeah, told you September a couple of months back… oh I’m so awesome.
Although I’m not really fussed now since I brought a 3DBDP, plays all BD’s a hell of a lot quieter than the PS3, plus it’s iPlayer is of much better quality, a dedicated app.

Oh and Mr. Lee, it’s Spider-man 3D (a.k.a. 4) not the 3rd.
I need more in my collection, I only have Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and Coraline.
All the other exclusive 3DBD’s are quite expensive on that ebay.

if you can afford a 3d tv, ps3, and 3d blu ray player, i am sure the prices on ebay are not outside of your grasp
