Some lovely new gameplay footage of Mortal Kombat has emerged from PAX – and by lovely we of course mean disgusting and brutal.
It shows the classic showdown of Sub Zero vs. Scorpion, and although the game seems slightly on the slow side in comparison to fighters that have been shown lately, it appears to have lost none of its charm. Nice finisher too!

I am kinda torn. I like the old MK style without all the ‘two dirrerent fighting styles plus weapons’ crap but I also want to see some pretty major updates since 10 years ago. This looks good but you can’t really tell until you play it and feel the flow and fluidity (or not)

when i watched some footage from e3 it seemed a lot faster than this but i dare say its cos this is just people having a go for the first time and dont really know what they’re doing, where as the footage from e3 was 2 developer/ testers and they obviously know what the move etc are. but i cant wait and the fact its in 3d on ps3 is a bonus

This looks awesome, I like how the rounds just started without resetting the “stage”.

Looks great. There are moments of speed that indicate that it might be slow because of the people playing rather than the game itself.

It doesn’t really seem to me`, from this video that this MK has changed much from the others other than returning to the 2D realm of fighting where it may belong. To be honest the game is no where near as dark as it once was and just seems to come off rather cheesy! The DOA series is more what I imagined MK would be like now playing it all those years ago on the megadrive! However, I’m an MK fan to the end and no doubt this will end up on my shelf at some point with unattainably high expectations of matching MK days gone by!
