You lucky people! Sony have just started sending out the emails to the lucky few who’ll be part of the LittleBigPlanet 2 beta. The test, which is officially a ‘closed beta’ and thus we can’t talk about it (yet) starts tomorrow and will run for three weeks.
“LittleBigPlanet 2 is our Greatest Handmade Adventure, giving you a powerful new set of tools that vastly widen the scope of possibility and hand you the power to create WHOLE GAMES,” says the top of the email, which just graced my personal inbox about 10 minutes ago.
Participants will receive an exclusive “LittleBigPlanet Beta Test Vest” for their troubles. As soon as we can report on exactly what makes LBP 2 so bloody brilliant, we will do. For now though, keep an eye on your own inboxes and let us know if you get an invite.

What do you have to do to get in the BETA?
I bought the original day one I played it, I even created a level. I sign up to PS+ and give my copy to my bro and play it a little more.
But still no invite.
So other than having the original, playing and creating in the original, being a ps+ subscriber and playing the game recently what more should I have done.
Im still happy though :)

What I don’t get is that they didn’t give this beta to the Plus members (who were promised betas). I mean, now they finally have a chance to give one after three months (and the first Plus subscribers’ subscriptions are to end!), they don’t.

To be fair LBP2 NEEDS beta testing, and by that I mean people playing and using it and reporting bugs. If they sent it to PSN+ users the I bet 99% of them would pley it a bit and never report and problems.
They would be better off sending something like the Dead Nation Beta to PSN+ members. I’ve had it for a few weeks nd have discovered and reported a oouple of bugs but for the most part its entirely playable and not in need of testing – although last night I did find a bus which just had a big white space on the side of it with “Must make witty sign to go here” written on it :)

PS+ subscribers will probably get the marketing betas and not ones that actually require feedback.
