Sony: Expect “Ico Collection” Information Tomorrow

Sony have confirmed to TheSixthAxis that the recently uncovered (and much rumoured) HD remasters of both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are indeed real.

In a statement released to us (and, evidently, others) a spokesperson for the European branch simply said that they can “confirm that [they] will be releasing an HD version of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus” and that we should expect more information “during the Media Briefing at TGS tomorrow.”

Rumours have surrounded the updates to two of the PS2’s most respected titles for some time, with TheSixthAxis claiming a Q1 2011 date some months back.

Some are now suspecting that the conference tomorrow at the Tokyo Game Show might offer at least additional surprise.

We’ll be reporting anything we hear.

  1. Their wording suggests individually packaged games D:

    • “will be releasing an HD version of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus”
      = packaged together

      otherwise it would have read more like..
      “will be releasing HD versions of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus”

  2. have both these games on ps2 and they lookk pretty special running through HD telly and my fat PS3 as it is – very interested to see what the difference will be on the “HD” versions

  4. I semi hope that they are separate. I think I would only want SotC.

    • Dunno, I played ICO first time round, but still want it again in HD.. So having them bundled together would give me an excuse to get both.

    • Why, ICO is fan-fucking-tastic, one of my all time favourite games…blasphemer!!!

    • The two as a retail bundle, with them individually on the Store maybe?

  8. Additional surprise? Move support then if anything. Couldn’t care less if it is.

    Would be good if the ‘surprise’ was a demo of Last Guardian on the collection, which I’d say is pretty likely but you never know.
