Halo: Reach Has Disc Problems

Microsoft say they are ‘aware’ that there are problems with Halo: Reach. A number of fans have found that their Xbox 360 will not read the disc at all and according to one unsubstantiated post on MaxConsole there are ‘queues’ of people at stores waiting to exchange discs. Microsoft say they are currently investigating and are ‘looking to address the problem.’

In a separate issue, owners of an Xbox 360 without a hard drive – including the new slim models – have found that they cannot  play the co-op mode and Firefight as a hard drive is required for his feature. Apparently the 4GB flash drive in the 360 S is not recognised by Reach as a hard drive.  Microsoft say they are working on a fix for this as well.

  1. One word to describe this. Fail!

  2. Microsoft= F**king idiots !

    • I like this man ^ ….or woman

    • Yeah! They should tell the disk pressing people to make the disks functional.

  3. not had any problems with the disk so far – im surprised about the amount of screen tearing and slowdown ive encountered though.

    • Had a few slow downs in places with lots of explosions, haven’t notice any tearing

    • Did you install it to your hard drive? I had already done this so I can’t say for sure but the intrawebz say that halps the slowdown screentear issues…

And you know how smart the Innerwebnetz are.. never mind…

  4. Mine’s fine. Wicked game.

  5. Man thats not good.

  6. Oh dear….
I hope they will resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

  7. How can such huge company release poorly made consoles that break evry 5 minutes and discs that won’t even play?, their ineptitude is staggering

    • You mean PS3s and Heavy Rains?? :P

im acctually a Sony fanboy, but you have to admit both companies could be waaay better in the quality of their products!

      • I nearly immolated Heavy Rain in my backgarden in a bizarre (and fiery) voodoo ritual. Its issues pissed me off that much.

When I rang Sony I had to LITERALLY lie down afterwards for fear of cardiac arrest.

      • Completely agree. Top drawer titles and this happens? Sony and Microsoft need to improve their testing. Especially with exclusive AAA titles.

      • I think every developer needs to invest in more quality control time, or the publishers could give them more time and leave them alone. But reading this did make me giggle a bit!

  8. Woops!

  9. Mine works fine. Still, a bit of a massive mess-up though. I don’t think the game’s anything special anyway.

  10. C’mon Microsoft, this ain’t good nuff’…
