Earth Defense Force Returns

Does anyone remember the 2007 game Earth Defense Force 2017?  By all accounts the game was pretty bad, with wooden animation, dumb A.I and crippling slowdown – but in a completely bizarre turn of events the game actually did really well in a ‘so bad you really have to play it’ type way.  Well next year will see the EDF return in ‘Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon.’ 

The game will be developed by Vicious Cycle – and from watching the trailer the first thing we notice is that the visuals have been given a major overhaul, and no longer resemble a tarted up PSOne game.  This is definitely one to watch out for.

  9. Excellent, the 360 one was brilliantly terrible, but immense fun. Slowdown wasn’t too bad, but the voice acting was definitely so bad it was hilarious

    • Indeed, EDF 2017 was a fantastic game.
      Slightly disappointed that Sandlot aren’t developing it.
      I fear it may lose it’s ‘so bad, it’s good’ appeal.
