Community Round-Up: 24/09/10

Last week saw the launch of PlayStation Move which not only brought a new way to game, but gave us new ways to challenge our community. Our Time Trial series has taken a back seat this week as we give Move some well-deserved attention. Teflon has organised challenges for three Move compatible games and is offering a nice amount of TSA points for the winners of each. Check out the announcement post for full details of each challenge and make sure you enter at least one of them. The deadline for entries is this Sunday so get moving!

The original Best of Battlefield competition took place way back in June and this week we announced its return. Yogdog, who just reached level 50 on Bad Company 2, will be organising the second outing of this event and wants to see you all there. There is space for 24 players and with the prize of a £20 PSN voucher up for grabs, we expect to see a great turnout. If you fancy playing in this exciting event on the 29th of September, send your PSN and TSA ID to Teflon before 11PM this Sunday.

It’s the semi-final stage in our ModNation Racers 1v1 Tournament and things are getting very interesting. The quarter finals were apparently very tight so the semis will be extremely close. The final four have until 11PM on Sunday to complete and send in the results of their fixture so if you haven’t organised your match yet, do it now!

Let’s take a look at this week’s TSA Meets now.  Tonight at 7PM there is a super meet to play in – literally – as Shakugan has organised a Super Street Fighter IV meet open to eight players. The guys will be playing Endless or Team Battles and it sounds like it’ll be a great laugh – fighting games always are. Also at 7PM there is a MAG meet for the Valor members of our community. There are still a few spaces left that need to be filled and we know there are more Valor members out there, come on out and support your faction!

Then at 9PM tomorrow (right after the X Factor finishes so no excuses guys) we have a Bioshock 2 meet and with space for only ten people, you should get your name down soon. On Sunday we have our first ever F1 2010 meet at 5PM. It is already over booked but if you don’t stick your name down, you have no chance of playing. At 6PM we get creative juices flowing in the weekly ModNation Racers meet where you can get your own tracks raced on – just let icuyesido know that you’ve brought one along with you and he’ll make it happen.

At 9PM there is a meet for Halo Reach which is surprisingly empty for a new game. There is space for sixteen people so put your name down and get that meet filled. Then on Monday at 7PM we see the Killzone 2 Boot Camps take place. After a very successful return last week there seems to be renewed interest in Killzone, possibly due to the awesome Killzone 3 footage we’ve seen recently. Do not miss out on this one.

That’s it for this week then. If you have 250 TSA points you can set up your very own TSA Meet, just make sure you leave a post in our forums to explain the details and attract members.

We hope you have a good week of gaming!

  1. I’ve had a few attempts at the Move challenges, but I’m not sure whether or not to submit them as I have a feeling I’m miles off the mark when it comes to the top scores. Still I suppose it’s the taking part that counts, so I may have a few more tries and submit my best score – even if it is rubbish!

  2. The f1 meet is full as per the article, but if we can get 16 players (only 4 more) then we can have 2 grids of 8 cars. also some people cant make it until 6ish so im guessing people will be coming and going from 5pm through the rest of the evening. ill start a text chat around 4.50pm and send some invites out. Add me if ive not sent an ivite by saturday night.

  3. Any news of the Folding@Home attempt to hit 1 million points in 1 month? I have been folding like crazy on 4 PCs and my PS3 and contributed about 3000 points this month so far.

  4. Well that’s just great, a massive meet an hour before mine, I guess our meet will be empty =(

    • appologies fella, i put it at 5 so people would be able to do a few races and then attend the modnation racers meet also and then come back to f1 later if they wanted, and also because the singapore gp finishes not long before

      • It’s all good, I’ve put it back an hour…. =)

  5. Great to see such an article, hope for more players in the future for my organised Bioshock meets, but maybe this way, it gets moving

  6. And not just this but a few of us have been enjoying Left4Dead on Steam(PC) which is great for me as I’m new to the experience. There’s a thread in the forum (might just be slipping onto page 2 in General Chat) but if you fancy a game, let us know. Sorry to abuse the official article. :-)

  7. Won’t be joining the MAG meet tonight, but I’ll be going to Valor very soon so should be able to enter some meets then

  8. I wanted to play Endless battle so badly on Super Street Fighter IV. I have put my name down 2 days ago and removed it today as I am playing football at 7pm :(
Oh well maybe next time. Just F1 meet for me =)

  9. Halo Reach … what is this game??? :P

  10. For the Killzone 2 Meet, come and say hello in the Killzone 2 Boot Camp Thread
