‘Okamiden’ Gets New Screens

The PS2 game ‘Okami’ was an absolute gem that unfortunately not very many people bought.  Hoping to capitalise on a new audience, it was then released on the Wii with an upgraded control scheme – but once again flopped.  In a case of “try, and try again”, Capcom will be releasing ‘Okamiden’ – a direct sequel to Okami – next year on the Nintendo DS.

Taking control of ‘Chibiterasu’ – the child of Okami’s ‘Amaterasu’ – you will once again take control of the Celestial Brush as demons return to Nippon.

  1. I have Okami for my PS2. Awesome game – truly epic…

  2. I bought Okami for the PS2 and loved every minute of it. I thought it was brilliant. Shame it didn’t sell all that well. Would love to see a Move version on PS3 maybe…

  3. Yeah I absolutely loved Okami. HD Move sequel (or even remake) would be perfect!

  4. Loved Okami. I was a superb, beautiful game. Shame that it’s likely we won’t see a return to the Playstation.

  5. Damn you DS give me a PS3 version to play any version will do

  6. I didn’t realise Okami flopped, a real shame as it was an amazing game. Second all comments calling for Move HD remake, though having already tried on the Wii I don’t see them risking it again.

  7. Great news! I thought Okami was fantastic so I’ll definitely be picking this up.

  8. i remember my ps2 days, it always seemed to be the case that a true gem of a game like okami, ico, sotc, gregory horror show etc got bypassed by the masses in favour of some yearly update churned out by ea.
