Folding@home: October Update

October! It’s blooming October, how time flies. I’m expecting these stats to be a little lower than they should be if we didn’t all have to detach from our computers to go to School/ Uni/ Work/ Other (delete where appropriate).

Oh how we’d all like to live in an ideal world, where work doesn’t exist, and you exchange hair for goods, so if you run out you’d have to wait until more grown until you can spend it, or shave the dog/ cat/ fish.

Any who… back to the real world, and this month’s stats.

I’d like to apologise for the delay in the stats, they were compiled sometime yesterday, due to a pain in the arse computer, but I do have the figure from when I started the update on the 1st so the 1 million point competition will start from that figure, don’t worry.

Team Info

As you can see we didn’t quite make it to the million point mark over the past month, but we did see quite a big increase in folders and we did see our best month ever, so keep up the good work, and we should be there next month. Don’t forget, to re-qualify you have to have submitted a WU in October.

Team Radar

Amazingly this month we managed to pass a total of 5 other gaming related teams including a couple of familiar names… so Ha! to them. So join me in saying byebye to SCEE, SCEA, PS3Blog.net, Tactical Gamer and GayGamer.net. These gaming teams are getting harder to find the higher we climb, but they’re also getting tougher to conquer, as you may notice Eurogamer have pulled ahead and are folding more per month than us lot.

  1. I’ve lapsed this last month wth hols etc but it’s pleasing to hear that we passed out both SCEE and SCEA!
Also welcome to all the new folders!

  2. I would like to contribute to this, but since my old ps3 YLOD’d, I don’t want to overrun my new one. I’m using it for entertainment purposes only, gaming, movies etc. I’m scared that running this while I’m not playing will decrease it’s lifespan.

  3. I’ll tell you what to do. When your friends leave the room, activate FAH on their Ps3.

    • That’s all well and good, but that’s on the assumption i have friends!

  4. Just sneaked into the top ten, not too bad I guess.

  5. Been folding harder this month than any other month. Been using my work computer, so folding from 9:00 – 5:30 each day now.

  6. i was going to fill out the folder form, but at the end i only see [//submit “Send”] instead of a button.

    • Ooooops, that was a temp while I finished sorting it out, it’s working now.

  7. I almost caught you Jas-n! I guess I will have to find some more computers to fold on!
