In just one week’s time there’s likely to be a global shortage of energy drinks. How else can all the charitable souls who intend taking part in Extra Life’s gaming marathon be expected to stay awake?
On October the 16th at 8AM the gaming marathon starts and it doesn’t stop until the following morning at 8AM. That’s a whole 24 hours of solid gaming and it’s all being done in aid of sick children.
The event is organised by the guys behind Sarcastic Gamer on behalf of the Children’s Miracle Network of hospitals (and various other local charities). And they’ve had a spectacular sign up of gamers wishing to take part in a gruelling marathon of gaming to help those who are less fortunate than themselves.
While TheSixthAxis is not formally involved in any way, we are friendly with one of the editors over at Sarcastic Gamer (YamsterSG) and we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone involved the very best of luck and congratulate them on doing a great job for a very worthy cause.
TheSixthAxis is backing our very own Blair (we’ll be making our own donation later in the week), who is joining YamsterSG for a 24 hour Rock Band marathon and would, I’m sure, appreciate your donations. We know that times are hard for a lot of people but even if you only donate the price of a cup of coffee it will all add up and go towards making a real difference to someone’s life.
In closing, I would like to ask you to consider donating to someone you know who has signed up for the event. If you would like to support Blair and show how generous TSA’s readership can be then please, click this link. Alternatively, other friends of the site who are participating include djhsecondnature and YamsterSG. You could even, if you were feeling particularly awesome, donate to all three!
Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this and thanks doubly if you were kind enough to donate.
