Splatterhouse Soundtrack Is Heavy

I remember the days when heavy metal music featured Satan and bringing your daughter to the slaughter, but generally it was still a bit tongue in cheek. Judging by the track listing for Splatterhouse the genre has moved from being a bit cheeky to taking its cue from the SAW movies.

Obviously I am getting old and turning into my Dad – Goatwhore – really?  Good Lord, pass the smelling salts Mavis.

Splatterhouse is out this November and the game will feature the following songs:

  • ASG – “Dream Song”
  • Cavalera Conspiracy – “Must Kill”
  • 5 Finger Death Punch – “Dying Breed”
  • Goatwhore – “Apocalyptic Havok”

  4. i like a bit of metal as much as the next girl, but some of these angry really heavy death metal songs are a bit much for me.

    i’d rather listen to a bit of evanescence.

  5. That video was barely passable.
    How are you supposed to provoke anyone if it’s impossible to understand the words? And the clothes scream “trying to hard”. If they had been smiling at any point in the video I would have assumed the whole thing was a parody.

  6. Erm apologies to any Christians, I’ve just noticed the video features upside down crosses. There again you’ve probably read “Goatwhore” and “Walk With Me in Hell” so are probably very offended anyway.

    Erm, don’t buy this game if you love Jesus, or something.

    • Why should I give a damn about upside-down crosses, for god sake?

      • Erm, isn’t quite offensive to Christians? Or do they have to be flamey-upside down crosses?

      • Maybe if the symbol was a pentangle or whatever it’s called. An upside down cross I think is related to a demonic presence in that area.

      • Oh well that’s what you get when you get your education from Hollywood movies :)

      • The inverted cross was St Peter’s choice of crucifixion as he did not deem himself worthy of being crucified like Jesus. However, in recent times, it denotes anti-Christ connotations which are pretty useless when looking to the original texts.

        So from a true Christian’s perspective (which I am not) I would think you haven’t offended anyone at all, tuffcub. This assumes you don’t like throwing your sausage up some chap’s mangina as obviously you should burn in hell for such an outrage. :-p

      • i dont think even christians know they arnt even sure what christianity is catholic, kkk ,american they all seem very confused about everything even sexuality (to shag little boys or not to shag little boys that is the question) also whats all the fuss about jesus is god to old fashioned or something is creating all that was, is, and ever will be, somehow less significant than preventing a wine shortage i mean even merlin could do magic trick’s but i dont see people celebrating his birth

    I love a bit of screamo (Read BFMV etc.), but this just takes the cake, and I consider myslef a metal-head.

      and just so you guys know, I have no problem with Mastodon and Lamb of God(to an extent), but not that “Goatwhore” style of *ahem* “Metal”. No thank you!
