Gaming’s often forgotten virtue, sound plays a monumental part of what makes video-games so immersive. Thinking about upgrading your set up and want to go all “official” on its ass? Check out the Sound Bar – the official surround sound system for the PS3.
Showcasing games such as inFamous 2, MAG and Uncharted 2, the footage also goes into some of the features in the audio system. Anything that has a “Night Mode” gets our vote. I hear TSA’s very own Dan Lee has a “Night Mode.” I’ve said too much.
The Sound Bar is available via Play among other outlets. It’s released on October 22nd. Finally, don’t forget to use the Store if you’re thinking of picking one up!

It annoys me when people band around the term surround. Unless your room is the PERFECT dimensions, nothing other than speakers all around you will give you surround sound. For the price of this you could pick up a reasonable amp and speakers for 5.1

Damn it.
They come out with an awesome offical sound system AFTER I purchase a Samsung sound system.

I never heard a virtual surround sound system that’s as good as proper surround sound. It’ll be interesting to hear some reviews.

That’s because it’s not. You know the phrase ‘too good to be true’, well a single unit that can simulate surround sound without the need for multiple speakers and the associated wiring is definately one such example

Agreed, I’ve got no complaints with my Sony receiver and Kenwood speakers.

I have a fantastic Samsung amp (which is connected to my PS3 and Media Centre PC both by optical) with 5.1 Yamaha speakers. The whole lot cost me about £160 from Richer Sounds and that was about 3 years ago. I guarantee it’s better than this. Sony amps are pony.

hmmm £169 for giant bar to sit infront of your telly and only 2.1? For £50 less i got the 5.1 Sharkoon X-TATIC headset with mic. Night mode! Ha! You can pin point footsteps with them on.

I have a soundbar, sits on the next shelf down from the tv. bought it instead of a 5.1 surround, as its a small room and it doesnt need all those speakers lol, to be fair, the tv sound alone would probably do fine

Well as I’m currently in Canada & these are the equivalent of £126 here I just picked one up! My room isn’t big enough for surround sound, so at this price it’ll do nicely thanks!! ;0)
