Darksiders 2 Is A Long Way Off

Fans of hack ’em up ‘Darksiders’ have a long wait ahead of them as the sequel will not be released next year. During an investor call, CEO Brian Farrell of  THQ announced:

“For fiscal 2013 we plan to release a sequel to our critically acclaimed Darksiders game and will be unveiling more details about Darksiders 2 in the future.”

The slightly better news is that the THQ 2013 fiscal year begins in April 2012 and Darksiders 2 is to be ‘early’ within the year, so we could expect a summer 2012 release.

The next UFC Undisputed title has also slipped and moves to their fiscal Q4 2012, sometime between January and March 2012.

  1. Delays can be good. I’m getting tired of games being cookie cutter that have very little depth or length the Generation.

    Fingers Crossed for this one.

  2. Looking forward to this one – just got the platinum for the first one & it was a fantastic game overall (but that damn ‘Aerial Predator’ trophy was a lot harder than it seemed & took some patience!), so i have high hopes for the next one.
It’s ok that they have delayed it as there will be plenty out between now & then to keep me occupied & lets be honest, the extra develoment time that Arkham Asylum had was only a good thing.

  3. Shame, I loved this game! I will be expecting very big things from the sequel now!

    • Me too. Really looking forward to this and even though I really enjoyed the original, the sequel could be a massive title.

      • me3 8) hope they make it a coop-able game, (SPOILER) since the rest of the wicked gang are all down now 8)

  4. I enjoyed the 1st on and even got a platinum. It was brilliant to play through on Hard and I enjoyed every bit off it. The horse was cool to ride lol.
    Looking forward to the 2nd.

  5. Platinum on this one for me too and I loved it. I felf some of the revies it got didn’t do it justice. I was very pleased with it. Looking forward to the follow up.

  6. Looking forward to it … damn it being so long away
