Tesco Trade-In Scheme Reaches ‘Extra’ Stores

Supermarket overlord Tesco has announced that you will now be allowed to trade-in games at its ‘Extra’ stores, as well as the normal ones.

Tesco’s senior buying manager for games, John Stanhope, had the following to say:

“We are continuing to develop our pre-owned offer and we are rolling out to the Extra stores estate as sales warrant.  At the moment we are buying and selling in 150 stores and buying in all Extras.”

Having a quick look at their website reveals that the prices they are offering you for your olds games seem reasonable (£24 for Fallout: New Vegas).  Has anyone traded in at a Tesco store?

  1. I work in an Extra. Wonder how it’ll be implemented…

    • You get money off of your shopping. Was going to trade my old games in, but I don’t shop in tesco.

  2. If you trade in CoD how much Cod can you get with the money?

  3. Just to let folks know, it appears that ‘all’ Argos stores are trading games now. While I was there some guy traded in MW2 and got £18 for it ! You have to spend it in store but that’s still a huge result for a year old game.

    • MW2 has retained a lot of value though. Before Black Ops was released, I’ve seen it for £34.99 up until October.

  4. £24 for Fallout NV isn’t that good – I got £31 exchange value for it in Gamestation yesterday using their price match + £1 offer against CEX prices. I understand not everyone has a CEX in their town though. I got £31 credit for F1 2010 too. If I’m trading games in it’s to get other games, I feel for people who have to trade in a game ‘cos they need the £20.
