EA Get PWNED_

Electronic Arts are really down with da kids, are they not? Their new gaming TV show is achingly cool and hip and goes by the name of PWNED_ (and yes, the _ is mandatory.)

Cunningly disguised as a hippity-hop happening internet TV show, PWNED_ will feature exclusive interviews and behind the scenes footage of the latest games from a certain publisher.

Hosted by the fragrant Sian Welby and the obligatory-bearded Matt Cuttle in a very colourful studio, the program zips along at rocket speed and features all sorts of gaming goodness, Rupert Grint and the occasional very badly dressed games developer. The first episode features:

  • Behind the scenes on the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Power Struggle video with Roll Deep and Ben Collins.
  • Fight Night Producer Brian Hayes meets the PWNED computer.
  • An exclusive interview with Ian Milham, Art Director on Dead Space 2.
  • Matt takes on Victoria Pendleton in EA SPORTSâ„¢ Active 2

Kudos to EA for trying something different, I’m looking forward to episode two.

  1. i had no intrest in this until i saw the blonde presenter, might be worth a watch.

    • ^^ I second this

      • ^^ I second jaffa-the-cake’s second.

      • I third this….

      • ^^ I humbly fourth this

      • I’m going to take the fifth…. he, he see what I did there?!

      • ^^ I 6th this. We are shallow beings aren’t we? :P

    • Well, 7 is the lucky number! :D

  2. Cool. Just wondering though how you know this Sian lady is fragrant? Have you smelled her? If so, didn’t you feel a bit weird going up to her and taking a sniff?

    • She smells like strawberries.

      • Stole my line you git :)

      • Bwahaha! Too slow!

      • I was hoping more for the slightly stale fish smell. So very nice on a woman!

      • Like a fishmonger’s apron. *vomits a little*

      • I wasn’t really thinking of fishmongers apron mike, more unwashed lady parts.

  3. Emmer Watson with normal hair! Wohoo! ;)
Slightly cheesey presenters, but the NFS behind the scenes was great.
    Looking forward to Ep 2.

    • Emma watson will be lovely in 5 or 6 years. She’s a little too young right now for my liking!

      • I remember someone called when I was at school. a proper mong LOL!

      • *called that*

      • “When i was at school”sure is a funny name!

      • Yeah, but for a 17 y.o she’s the perfect age! ;P

      • In 5 or 6 years you will be 5 or 6 years older. So she will never catch you up. Sucks I know, but that’s life

      • She might never catch up,but in 5 or 6 years it would be less frowned upon ;)

  4. I’m slightly disturbed that the majority of posts are about how fit the females are in the video *tuts*. A little more respect for the ladies please.

    • Good thing you’re around to keep us in line. You shining example of high ethics.

      • Ben Cohen doesn’t mind when I letch over him – his wife keeps on posting pictures of him in the shower on Facebook, the teasing cow.

    • or, you know, a little more leering at the guys, just to balance it out!

    • tell me you didnt google image her name ;)

  5. Received an email from EA this morning but haven’t had time to watch the video yet.

  6. What an awful, awful name…

    • Can’t help but agree but the show itself was okay. Sod the lead lady, I’ll have Kat Shoob any time. Very easy on the peepers.

Pity the dialogue was so forced and scripted but it was still pretty good. The upside down crash thingie from NFS was bloody awesome.

    • Yeah, that is a really awful name, smacks to me of those horrible govt adds that try to be all yoof culture whilst poncing on about drugs, sex, asbo’s etc.

  7. “Electronic Arts are really down with da kids, are they not?”
    I can’t stop laughing :L

    • Why add the ‘_’ after the name? PWNED wasn’t dumb enough?

  8. hot chicks are always nice

  9. I remember Matt Cuttle from G@amers, that was a great show.

    • G@mers I mean, G@amers is even more dumb.

  10. I really liked the Dead Space 2 interview. This is one of my top contenders for the game I’m looking forward to the most.
