PS3 owner? Call of Duty: Black Ops owner? Apparently, going off the internet hivemind this morning, you’re meant to be disappointed with it.
The Register has picked up on an internet petition (we love those things) that suggests that PlayStation 3 owners feel their version of the game is sub-par, and with over 2,000 signatures in less than 24 hours it’s obvious this is gathering some momentum.
To frame that figure with some kind of perspective, the game has shifted 1.4 million copies – albeit across all formats.
The petition cites “sub-par graphics, buggy software and less features” than the Xbox 360 version, which has, apparently, better graphics, less bugs and more features than the PS3 version.
One of the main omissions surrounds the split screen online multiplayer, which as far as we were concerned was picked up before the game was released, but the petition references several online sources, such as this one on Product Reviews and this one on CVG.
The petition is essentially requesting “a full refund” for the undersigned’s purchases.

The reason why people want their money back is the connection issues that plague the game like the Black Death. The PC version has also come under fire for it being a badly unoptimised 360 port.
I have both and found that on the PS3 we were constantly being forced back to lobby. The PC version on the other hand has problems a plenty namely stuttering in fire fights. Hell even the in game Menu lags like hell and freezes as does the server browser.
If anyone should have their money back on this unfinished product then it’s the PC gaming community. Oh and fire these Community Managers that Treyarch/Activision employ namely JD_2020, a complete and utter cock if there ever was one.

I agree but I havent played PC version. Only 360 and PS3 and the game is just pure rubbish on PS3.

Pretty much every game is slightly worse on the PS3 than 360 according to Digital Foundry, but I don’t care. What does annoy me about BO is the connection issues.

That’s not entirely true. They’ve highlighted when a multiplatform game looks better on the PS3.

That’s because up until now the majority of multi-platform games don’t run as smooth on the PS3 or have the texture detail of the 360.
There are exceptions like Criterion’s two games, Burnout Paradise & NfSHP which have platform parity, and stuff like Final Fantasy XIII & Vanquish and other which have PS3 advantages.
None of matters in comparison to connection issues though, they really need to tighten up host migration on the PS3, and penalise rage quitters

I 90% of cases, the consoles used as the lead platform is the one that performs better. With EA primarily using the PS3 as their lead now, most EA games perform better on PS3, whereas most others are better on 360.

You got what you paid for, nothing else was promised than what was on the PS3 disc. The 360 disc is a different game, different format.

Exactly, its not like the one feature difference was advertised on the PS3 boxcover, or as part of Treyarch’s/Activision promotional activity. the one aspect where they have chance of making progress is perceived buggy PS3 netcode

There is not a single thing wrong with the game except for Host Migration doesn’t work as well as it should and perhaps if all the f**ktoids stopped rage quitting it wouldn’t matter, if you want to know what Treyarch are doing about fixing stuff, then see their forums and twitter accounts of various members of their production team.
Also, learn what hotfixing means and see that hundred of tweaks have already been implemented.

I bought the game thinking Treyarch learnt from IW and it’d be a better MW2 but no.
PS3 runs super slow especially accessing xmb. I’ll be lucky if I can play a game without lag, host migration fail or the frame rate dropping.
You saying there is not a single thing wrong is PURE BS. I can’t even turn 3D permanently off like in GT5, I don’t always want to play in 3D.

perhaps its because Polyphony are working on a console exclusive and not a multiplatform game. polyphony can devote their whole time to the patch, which they were probably doing long before release

first of all, the graphics aren’t better on the 360 version, the resolution is.
Second, all CoD games favored 360 over Ps3, so Black Ops shouldn’t have been a surprise.
Plus the commercials yelled all this to you, so if you bought this game for the Ps3 and are complaining about it, you are a FOOL.
Last, the petition shouldn’t be for having your money back, it should be for getting the Ps3 version fixed to everyones liking.
I play it on the Ps3 everyday and it’s not that bad as everyone is making it.
