PS3 owner? Call of Duty: Black Ops owner? Apparently, going off the internet hivemind this morning, you’re meant to be disappointed with it.
The Register has picked up on an internet petition (we love those things) that suggests that PlayStation 3 owners feel their version of the game is sub-par, and with over 2,000 signatures in less than 24 hours it’s obvious this is gathering some momentum.
To frame that figure with some kind of perspective, the game has shifted 1.4 million copies – albeit across all formats.
The petition cites “sub-par graphics, buggy software and less features” than the Xbox 360 version, which has, apparently, better graphics, less bugs and more features than the PS3 version.
One of the main omissions surrounds the split screen online multiplayer, which as far as we were concerned was picked up before the game was released, but the petition references several online sources, such as this one on Product Reviews and this one on CVG.
The petition is essentially requesting “a full refund” for the undersigned’s purchases.

No point signing this but I honestly want my money back, I was thinking of taking it back to HMV for a refund because of the constant disconnects. Not once have I stayed in the same lobby for more than one game, it’s a disgrace and needs patching ASAP.

Well im enjoying the game. Not seen or played the 360 version. My only complaint is the online that keeps dropping me out from time to time and then I can’t reconnect to join a friend and the party invite system that works when he invites me but only works 40% when I invite him even after setting up the port forwarders. At present im enjoying this alongside GT5.

Personally, I would jump on the opportunity to swap my version for a 360 version. I haven’t been able to play a single game of Ground War. It’s ridiculous.

I was disappointed with it. Paid £45 for a game that was inferior to MW2. Infinity Ward should have been handed Black Ops to make. I traded it in for GT5

Same as me kept the game for a week the traded for store credit to put towards my GT5. The only good thing to come with the game was the top down zombie shooter, if that was on the PSN i would buy it.I mean most of the trophy’s were the exact same as world at war, and the online game was rubbish the host migration was a joke and i only liked playing ground war but you got a good score then bang disconnected.There would have to be a really special call of duty game for me to ever buy one again.

I’m finding it impossible to complete the contract where you have to win 3 games of Team Deathmatch. I usually can’t even complete 3 consecutive games because of disconnects! In the rare event that I find a stable host who sticks around, I DO NOT SLEEP! Hence Treyarch’s crapness is directly damaging my health and impacting my performance at work. LOL

I believe the simple answer is “nope”. It’s not part of the returns policy, much like CDs, DVDs, etc. Arses. Sell it on eBay ASAP.

what gets me is people who complain about these games, as though the developers owe them something. Blops is an amazing game and the work spent on it is incredible. The criticism of GT5 is getting to me too. I’m not too fussed about GT5 TBH, but some reviews are writing that the racing aspect of the game is ‘the best around’ but unfortunately the menus are cack and graphically there are some trees that don’t quite look as good as the trees on Forza etc. Since when has things like that mattered? similar to these guys complaining about the menu screens for Blops. Since when has the menu matter for a driving game and/or FPS game?
It shows how good these games must be if people are having to pick the most random things to critisise it.
Next Unchartered 3 will be pants because the opening menu music is the wrong genre!
I’m starting to think these reviewers have hidden agendas and it’s time to stop reading them!

Menu’s are a very important aspect of a game, A lot of your gaming time is matches/races.
I agree about the tree example you gave though, it petty and just nit picking for the sake of it.
