“Comprehensive” New Vegas Patch Has Been Submitted

The buggy nature of the latest in the Fallout franchise has been discussed no end – heck, we even did a top ten glitch list.

Fortunately Bethesda has just submitted a comprehensive patch for approval, and hopefully it will be with us soon.

The list of what the patch will remedy hasn’t been released, but it was mentioned that the save issue on the Xbox 360 will be stomped on, as well as a “number of other issues”.

  1. The glitches/bugs were the only thing keeping me from putting down some money for New Vegas. It’s a shame this has taken so long.

    • fair call. but having played it for 50+ hours the glitches are not that often and havent really effected my game at all

      • Same for me, but when they did affect my playing it was severly(had to hard reset a few times, and guess what…. AGES SINCE I SAVED 8( )… But you should get the game nonetheless :p its pure awsomeness 8)

      • I played the game for about the same amount of hours and only experienced one glitch. Its hit and miss whether it plays up or not I think as this patch offers nothing to me while it will ne a miracle to others

    • yer im the same but ill w8 for GOTY edition now just so i get all the packs and a slightly smother game

      • If the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 is anything to go by I wouldn’t hold your breath for a bug free game!

    • This and the fact that it is only £22 quid on Amazon now means I may have waited long enough to get this. The bugs really put me off, but enough people have said they are not too bad.

  2. had to laugh at that subtitle!

    • Same, one of the better ones!

    • its all you need for a job in IT

    • hehe same here.. Wish i had the automated recording have.. would really save me some time ><

  3. i put up with them, ive only got three ceaser quest trophies an 2 others til i platinum it.

  4. I cautiously picked up a copy of NV on thr 360 expecting it to be riddled with bugs. I am currently 30+ hours in and the only glitch I have found so far is if you are following a character and you go through a door (which causes the loading screen to pop up). I’ve found unless you let them go through the door first they dont seem to join you on the other side. Other than that though I really haven’t found anything at all. Then again I played it after the 3mb patch though so perhaps this ironed out some of the nasties

  5. I hope this makes the game run smoother than when it launched as i’m looking forward to unwrapping it and getting stuck in this xmas!

    • Same here. If it does nothing, i will still play it.

  6. I’ve been playing this quite a lot – and to be honest, while the glitches are annoying, it hasn’t crashed too many times… of course more than you would expect really from anygame, but it is still awesome, so I can forgive it. Just save, save, save, save and save, and remember to save!!!!
And if the GOTY comes out, I’m not getting my hopes up – the DLC on fallout 3 didn’t appear to have been patched, and I found it crashed a lot when I was in DLC areas. *sigh*
