   At that price I think I’ll have to give Tank Battles a go. Looks like an update of Combat from Atari 2600 days.

       Putty Squad – i’m almost certain that was on Amiga years ago but i’m not sure if it was re-done for ps1.
       It was a platform game with a blob of putty which could transform into different shapes to navigate obstacles… if memory serves me right. :)
       Dunno why the avatars are here now though..

   My recommendation out of the special offers is Droplitz if you like puzzle games.

   Then ignore the rest of what is on the store, pop over to gamecards.eu, drop $20 on a US PSN card and buy Auditorium HD. It is _briliant_.

   Does anyone know if Qlione is any good? There’s a trailer for it on the US store, looks like some kind of cheap Geometry Wars game.

     It’s actually not that similar to Geometry Wars, in terms of gameplay at least. It’s… a bit hard to describe. You have two types of bombs – explosive and vacuum. The explosions themselves don’t damage the enemies – instead you have to use your two bomb types to create ripple like effects in the vector background. The stronger the ripple, the more damage you’ll do. ‘Qlione Evolve’ contains both Qlione and Qlione 2 and they each have their own separate trophy list (which appear to be brutally difficult, so don’t think you’ll be getting a lot of cheap trophies).

       It’s different at any rate. I’m not sure that I’d really say I was having fun, but I played it for a few hours and found it fairly involving. Part of it was that the instructions didn’t really show you how to play the game, so I was determined to figure out how I was supposed to play this thing.

       I made it to the last level (of 8), and, judging from the leaderboards, I was the only person who’d made it past level 6 (at that time), so maybe everybody else gave up out of frustration (some of the boss battles are pretty tough).

       I would say get it, if partly to support Rockin’ Android’s efforts to bring Japanese indie games to the PSN store. The games themselves are a bit of a curiosity that might not appeal to that many people, but you do get two of them for the less than the price of one standard PSN game, so it’s not a bad deal.

   Tank Battles is actually a nice game, I was wondering why they reduced it’s price to almost nothing…
   Then I remembered that it’s Gameloft, they always eventually sell their games for next to nothing.
