It’s a little know fact that everything slows down around Christmas. It’s not just shops and businesses that shut up whilst everyone scoffs themselves silly, the internet also has a Christmas break and runs at just 10% of its operating capacity.
As the world still requires Lolcats and Tweets from Justin Bieber many other equally important squims* of internet data are held in a queue and only trickle out when everyone gets back to work and the web regains 100% capacity.
This is the technical reason as to why this news from December 28th is only being reported today. As it is very important news we hope you will forgive our tardiness, this is due the aforementioned ‘Internet Christmas Delay’ and precisely the right kind of snow (the kind that’s great for having snowball fights.)

Mark Wahlberg is NOT Nathan Drake! Joystiq spoke to Uncharted 3 game director Justin Richmond and claimed
Mark Wahlberg isn’t anywhere near to being confirmed to play Nathan Drake either — it’s just Hollywood scuttlebutt, apparently.
The Director of the movie, David O. Russell, has also denied any comments about the film having a ‘Family Dynamic’ and told Naughty Dog, ‘I don’t know what these guys are talking about.’

I don’t think we can take this as “Wahlberg isn’t playing Drake” though, it only say he isn’t anywhere near confirmed and David O Russell has worked with Marky Mark in the past.

Maybe they read how badly the internet took the news of having both Wahlberg and a ‘family dynamic’ and thought better of it. With any luck the Producers have come to their senses and have decided to cast a decent actor to play a role faithful to the source material.
Actually thinking about it, didn’t I see an interview with Wahlberg himself talking about his new role as Nathan Drake or did I dream that???
