Sony To Announce The PSP2 On January 27th

It seems like the wait is nearly over, as reports are coming in that Sony is set to reveal the PSP2 on January 27.

VG247 ran with the news earlier, and MCV have also confirmed it is true but interestingly states it has some “exclusive industry insight” in this week’s magazine, “some of which will come as a huge surprise.”

“Publishers were informed late last year of the plans,” says the site, “with some of Sony’s biggest parties already at work on titles for the high-specced device.”

Stay tuned for more information as and when we get it.

  1. HD graphics, Dual dicks, Music/Video/Image storage, Track pad and a camera?
    wow, i need this.

i also love how Sony seemed to plan this announcement just after the 3DS started to show problems (so more people would choose PSP2 over 3DS) you know until someone learns that the PSP2 causes cancer or something serious like that.

also its not impossible for the PSP2 to come with a glasses-less 3D screen considering Sony has been shown to be working on 3D without the glasses.
(or maybe the PSP2-2000 will have something like that)

  2. ‘Dual dicks’ eh?? methinks you have the wrong site fella…lol ;-)

    • haha yeah me thinks he was meant to be on xhamster.com eh lad ;p

  3. i would like to see more details!

  4. MS isn’t that interested in the portable consoles market . The way portable games sell , looks like they too will announce X/XBOX Portable or something

    • Lol microsoft cant even design a console not to over heat and scratch discs. can ya imagine them trying to fit alot of power into a hand held.theyd have to bundle it with some fire retardent gloves..

    • Xbox Live has arrived on WP7, presumably they’ll redesign the Zune PMPs to compete better with the iPod Touch

I don’t think Microsoft are interested in competing with Nintendo in the handhald arena, so wouldn’t even register Sony as a competitior – They want a slice of the Apple pie, it’s as much about the delivery method of games as it is the games themselves

  5. Bought the ‘Go at xmas and it was still £150 so this is probably going to be insanely expensive. Still, I’m very interested in how this will turn out; hopefully the analogue nub thing want give me thumb-ache like the old ones did
