‘Shift 2: Unleashed’ Dated

EA has confirmed that ‘Shift 2: Unleashed’ will be hitting the shops on March 24th in Europe, March 25th in the UK, and March 29th in North America. Also released was a new trailer showing actual gameplay footage at night.  Graphically it’s looking very nice indeed.

  1. Wow, so they’re doing NfS every half a year now?
Doesn’t seem to have the NfS name at least, so that’s good.

    • No, Criterion and another studio are making an arcade NfS which will be released every November, they are taking it in turns so they can have a 2 year dev cycle

Slightly Mad Studios will be developing the Shift series and they will release them as and when they’re ready which will be 2 years minimum.

  2. Looks fantastic

It’s also promising that they aren’t going to be compromised in making a sim NfS like they were with Shift1 as it was the only NfS out in that year they had to hold back so it could appeal to non-sim fans

Plus: Autolog = win, would be even better of they could make it cross platform

    • Autolog should be fantastic in a more “sim” game.

  3. Really didn’t get along with the first one but there’s no denying just how impressive that looks! (No denying from me anyway).

    • Yeah the devs weren’t happy with having to compromise as it was the only NfS out that year, this time they say they’ve been able to do what they want

    • I agree first NFS Shift was pretty bad, I switched back to GRID straight away. This however does look a lot more impressive. Moving camera might get a bit disorientating though.

    • The first Shift would have been good game if it wasn’t for all the bugs and the worst slow-down I’ve seen in a game for years.
      Let’s hope the’re fixed in Shift2.

  4. “Our poor wallets” is a great tagline. :)

  5. was i the only one who misread the titleas.
looks good. But i wait for the demo.

  6. I already knew that it was March as i read it in a magazine over my mates house. Didnt know the exact date though so maybe it wasn’t confirmed.

  7. It’s not real racing though, is it?
    Still looks arcadey.

  8. I didn’t like the first one the handling just didn’t feel right to me.

    • I rerember the advert and a few gameplay video’s I looked at looking very good. But when I actually played it, I was suprised to be very dissapointed.

  9. “The most realistic racer ever”.
    *Cough* GT5

    • You get an adrenaline rush from racing

      • My Formula GT gives me enough adrenaline :P
But yeah thats true, adrenaline wise, this is more than likely to increase your pulse than GT5, although if it handles and feels similar to the 1st shift, this will be a definite no buy. But all will be decided if they release a demo :D

      • If the Formula GT gives you an adrenaline rush just wait until you get in the X2010. I’ve been doing laps of Tokyo R246 in about 55 seconds!

      • I saw a few gameplay videos on youtube of that X2010. Looks Mental!!!!! Im suprised the racing line doesn’t lag!! Getting that car is one of my goals on GT5. Must get it! But for now the GT F1 does the job nicely :D

  10. can’t wait, looks and sounds good. The way the engine/exhaust note changed when they went close to the walls was brilliant. It looks to also have licensed team colours, my favourite race team livery Pro-Speed looks to be in there.
