Advance warning: this may not be what you think it is. Square Enix have registered a domain name hinting at a possible spin-off to their flagship franchise, Final Fantasy. Much akin to how Final Fantasy X received a second chance with the Yuna-focused Final Fantasy X-2, Lightning and Snow may get another outing in Final Fantasy XIII-2.
The source of the speculation is URL finalfantasy13-2game.com, registered by Registrant Corporation Service Company who have locked down website domains for Square Enix in the past.
It could be a new HD edition of the ubiquitous series, or it could be a mobile game for all we know. We may find out more at Square Enix’s media event this week.

I hope they take their time with it if it is a ps3 game, Only put 5 hours into 13 and want to finish it at some point!

I hope it’s true!! I really liked 13 (and 12, and 10, and 7, 8, and 9), and contrary to most people I like ’em more with every new edition. X-2 was kinda dumb though, I guess they were trying to appeal to 14-yr-old Japanese girls with that one (27/m/netherlands here).

Although I loved the story and characters, for me the gameplay let it down. Only being able to control one of the party members was really anoying and I found the UI for battles over complicated so I would the Auto-Battle button until it was over. Also I didn’t like the way you were fully healed after each battle, in the previous games I really enjoyed stocking on items and going out to further the story, but what I really made the old games fun were the bosses especially when you would get down to your last few potions and not know if you were going to survive the battle. Aside from all that great game.

FFVII is the best one IMO lol, and honestly I think the FF series has gone way done since 7. I guess it was the story and music for me, because I really enjoyed Crisis Core as well.
