Gran Turismo 5 continues to evolve well beyond its initial release, proving that some of the early reviews were pre-emptive, inaccurate write-ups of a game that has grown considerably since release. Yes, it’s still inperfect but as Polyphony’s online portion evolves at a steady pace and the number of races and features likewise, it’s clear that anyone buying GT 5 is in for a long-term ride.
The notion of the B-Spec races might confuse some still, but even if the concept of letting an AI driver do the donkey work effectively tieing up your PS3 is slightly alien, the idea that you’ll be able to do just that from a browser whilst in another room of the house (or at work) surely must excite even the most wary of gamers.
Polyphony boss Kaz Yamauchi has confirmed that this new part of GT5, dubbed Gran Turismo Anywhere (or Remote Racing) is still coming, and it’s due next month. It’s still not 100% clear what this feature will actually provide, but the official GT site clearly states that your PS3 will have to be running in order for the feature to work. Let’s hope it’s worth the wait and gives us slightly more control over our drivers.

Well said nofi, well said.

I hope this allows b-spec races to be run while playing a-spec or multi-player.

I think the PS3 has to be running B-Spec for you to remotely control it.

b(oring)spec sucks i just cant get into it, luckily my gf seems to love it and has been taking care of it for me. I would have preferred b-spec online races where every racer has a human giving the orders.

I’ve been waiting for this feature so have been concentrating on A-spec in the meantime.

Remote play would be very cool indeed.

Hmm, don’t know what happened there.

Should be mixed in long lapped races… GT4 did it so hopefully 5

I’m loving everything about GT5.
But that’s not to say there aren’t improvements that could be made. I’d like to see the return of the ability to fast-forward B-Spec races, and the ability to save between races in the Championship events – both of those were present in GT4.
I’d also like to see the ability to save mid-race in the Endurance events, because I don’t think many people will have the time or inclination to do a full 24 hours in one sitting. Though I’ve had no reliability issues with my PS3s, even if I could sit and play for 24 hours, I don’t think I’d like to leave my PS3 on for that amount of time.

That’s what I was saying to AG2297 last night, I preferred GT4’s B-Spec as it was only there when you needed it, so you could of split the endurance races with the CPU.

i cant wait for this to come out

So why didn’t they just release this game 3 years ago!? I mean sure, we may have only had 3 tracks and a go cart, but it would have turned up eventually!
