Johnathan Ross, host of Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS event, has been a bit loose lipped about what we can expect from the big N and its fancy new handheld. Apparently “a few unexpected revivals” are on the way, and when someone commented that they would love to see a new Metroid game, Wossy’s reply was “I think you’re going to be pleased then…”
Overall he seems impressed with the device:
“What I can say about 3DS is that the 3D is far better than I would have thought possible without glasses. The games that seem to benefit the most are the driving and shooting games – the perspective makes it all feel more accurate.”
It all sounds good, but we really need to get hold of the console to see how it looks and works in the flesh. It’s a good job we’re heading out to Amsterdam this Wednesday then isn’t it? Expect a full hands on report right here on TSA.

My head is spinning with what these revivals could be. It might be some N64 classics (Wave Race!, Mario!) or it could be brand new games, like Mario Tennis or Golf or …

The video games indusry is deffinitely going through that period or revivalist culture the movie inustry has seen across the last decade. It’s nice sometimes to see games from the 80’s/90’s brought up to date but a bit much when games from only two years ago are seeing re-releases.
