Though outsiders may not think it, gaming communities, no matter how small or large, are also platforms for charity events as demonstrated this past weekend. Frogster and N3V Games, developers and publishers of the popular free-to-play MMO, Runes of Magic, promoted in-game premium items, with 50% of the money going directly to victims of the Queensland Floods in Australia.
So far the grand total stands just shy of $2,000 with the event ending on January 23rd. To participate, you can purchase either the Star or Flame mounts for your character at a cost of 225 diamonds, RoM’s in-game currency. 326 of the mounts have been sold so far, with 272 over the weekend period.

Although things like this are a good ides, and well done on them for doing it and raising the money, but thats abit cheeky only giving 50% to charity. I prefer sponsored charity marathon gaming events!

It’s a free to play MMO, so I don’t blame them for nit donating 100% of the proceeds.
Grey_Ghost13
True, I suppose they do get all of their income from ingame items bought!

that’s pretty cool
