We’ve known for a long time that Dead Space Extraction was coming to the PlayStation 3 as part of the Dead Space 2 Collector’s/Limited Edition, but new information has surfaced that points to it coming out on the PlayStation Store as a stand-alone title. In the comments section of a recent PlayStation Blog post, Senior Social Media Specialist, Rey Gutierrez, confirmed it would be coming to the PSN after a reader questioned its availability.
“Simple answer, yes. Expect it on PSN. More details soon.”
Rey also went on to say that Extraction is compatible with the standard DualShock 3 controller (which you may have already heard about) and that it is going to get a full set of trophies that will include a platinum. No price has been announced yet nor do we know whether or not it will be available in all regions, but those questions are likely to be answered very soon.

Good news for me, seeing as I probably won’t be buying Dead Space 2 at all let alone the SE. There are just too many games this year! But if Extraction is for a decent price standalone then it’ll be strongly considered. My Move is getting a little dusty truthfully.

great that it has a platinum as well, EA have looked after us PS3 owners with this nice bonus on the disc version.

I played it through on the Wii, it’s a bit sub-par compared to the original in terms of scripting and acting, but it’s quite a good insight (like Downfall) into the Ishimura story from a different perspective. I’ll be pleased to go through it again for the trophies, and hopefully an HD touch up will improve the visuals a fair bit.

Thought this was known about for ages?
Anyway, will be getting this as getting DS2 on xbox which only comes with a plasma cutter & this little goodie :-/

Everone knew extraction was on the PS3 limited edition; no-one knew if it’d be sold on PSN.

Suppose but they wouldn’t miss a chance to make more money, and most of the time things like this go up on the store, like COD & im sure MOH assualt will

Sweet I think I got the collector’s edition so the extraction will be in the game or a code to download, but still good for others out there who cannort fork out the special edition. Brilliant stuff.

If you pre-order it, is the limited edition not the same price as the normal game too? Or have I been mis-informed?

Good idea for anyone not ‘ARD enough to tackle DS2!
Looking forward to both ex and DS2.
