Enslaved May Get A Sequel

Enslaved had all the ingredients of a classic and it reviewed well. Our very own Dan giving the game a well deserved 8/10, describing it as a ‘flawed masterpiece’ and the DLC scored a whopping 9/10 with Dan writing that the extra content was ‘a great example of how to do single player DLC.’

Sadly the game did not achieve the sales the company were expecting but Namco Bandai’s marketing director Lee Kirton has not lost faith in the game;

“It didn’t perform as well as we hoped it would, but we’re very proud of how it was received by both the media and the gamers who have experienced it,

“I can’t discuss where we are in terms of a sequel, but we’re looking at reviews and feedback from the press and because of the gameplay and quality that Enslaved delivered, we see it as a great catalogue title going forward.”

Enslaved was one of those games I really was going to buy thanks to the impressive and rather amusing demo but I never got round to it, looks like I’m not the only one. Sorry Namco!

  1. I`ve just finished this game, and i must say its good, but it can be repetative, but worth a play, i think its over shadowed by games like Uncharted etc

  2. I started this not long after christmas, but encountered a bug and had to switch it off. Ashamedly (is that a word?) I havent been back since….. sorry dan! dont threaten me with P**** O’clock please!

    • ….but, from what i’ve played already, I would definatley purchase a sequel if it was on par – or better than enslaved

      • i have enslaved, purchased it in november too just before xmas, and havnt completed it yet but i found it meh but it is a good game and i will complete and would welcome a sequel

      • damn i thought u said before xmas, my post has no relavence to urs now, my bad

  3. Excellent news. Fantastic single playthrough game

    • +1

    • Yep. One of my favourite single player experiences last year, going at bargain prices now too.
If a sequel arose, I’d be very happy.

  4. hopefully this game receives a bit of a Dead Space vibe, where not many people bought it initially but it had a ‘long tail’ through the pre-owned markets, and whilst that wouldn’t help the devs or pubs or would lay the groundwork for the sequel to be a mega-hype hit

    • i can see this happening. one of those cult classics which slowly works its way into the mainstream. shame it got caught up in the christmas rush. if another game does come it would help if it were not against a similar game like castlevania

  5. I finally got around playing it a while ago and was really looking forward to the story which was praised by TSA so heavily. The game turned out to be… well… not bad. I had high expectations but these were not quite met. The story felt very linear and shallow. The combat system was flawed but the environments were interesting and a joy to look at. If they polish this game for a sequel it could turn out pretty sweet.

  6. Glad they are planning a sequel despite cruddy sales figures. Enslaved was one of the only story driven games I have played in one sitting (the other being Heavy Rain). Really good stuff.

  7. Should really play this, it’s a crime I haven’t yet!!!

I heard something about a boycott by some gamers over the whole Dante/Cole character change, but can’t remember which one it was and how it’s linked to Enslaved???

  8. I have this game still brand new and in it’s plastic wrapping. I’m still trying to platinum PoP: 2 Thrones. Curse you sand snake throphy.

  9. Spent Xmas week playing and greatly enjoyed. Would love a sequel.

  10. Please Please!!! I loved this game, if they make a sequel i whould pre-order it… And thats my first pre-order :D
